Question:

Acute onset of pre existing condition question. What if the visitor has history of heart disease and needs to go to ER for some heart related issue. At the ER they monitor the patient for more than 24 hours is that considered valid case for acute onset of preexisting condition?

Answer:

We will not able to confirm if a specific situation is covered. Coverage will be determined based off of the attending physicians notes at the time of service. If it meets the definition of an Acute Onset of a Pre-existing condition, then is something that could receive coverage.

I would recommend calling our office if you need further clarification on this.
